China grants Egypt 72M USD for satellite project

Egypt and China signed on Monday an agreement on a 72-million-U.S. dollar Chinese grant for Egypt's satellite Sat II project, Egypt's official MENA news agency reported.

The agreement reflects fruitful cooperation between the two countries, MENA quoted Egyptian Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar as saying.

Abdel Ghaffar underscored the depth of good relations between Egypt and China in all fields, especially higher education and scientific research.

The inking ceremony was attended by Mahmoud Hussein, acting head of the Egyptian National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, Song Aiguo, Chinese ambassador in Egypt, and Han Bing, minister counselor for economic affairs at the Chinese embassy in Cairo.
