Hot spring festival opens in Yongtai
The 9th Fuzhou Hot Spring International Tourism Festival kicked off in Yongtai, a county-level city in Fuzhou, Fujian province on Dec 1.
The month-long festival is an integral part of the ongoing 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Tourism Festival in Fuzhou.
At the launch ceremony, guests from home and abroad appreciated splendid performances, which comprehensively showcased Yongtai's beautiful ecological environment and its characteristic tourism featuring a combination of local culture, hot springs and delicacies.
Also on its sidelines, four local travel agencies reached cooperative agreements with Australian travel agencies under the umbrella of the 21St Century Maritime Silk Road.
Yongtai, dubbed as the "Hometown of Hot Spring", has a history of more than 1,000 years. The reserves of its hot springs account for 18.4 percent of Fuzhou, ranking the top in the city.
In the future, it plans to further the integration of hot springs in tourism, thus infusing new vitality to the industry's growth and its popularity.
