An international tourism festival highlighting a grand festooned vehicle parade kicked off in Fuzhou, capital of East China's Fujian province on Nov 30.

Themed "expanding cooperation alongside the Maritime Silk Road and sharing a better life", the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Tourism Festival, which celebrates its fourth edition this year, gathered nearly 1,000 guests from 30 countries and regions worldwide.

A special highlight, a parade featuring 16 festooned vehicles of different themes and 8 characteristic performances including Fuzhou Opera were staged, creating a splendid audiovisual extravaganza on the evening of its opening day.

On top of the parade, a plethora of activities are set to be held during the month-long festival, including the 2018 Fujian Tourism and Life Exhibition, the 2018 China Tourism Industry Communication Innovation Forum and the 9th Fuzhou Hot Spring International Tourism Festival.

Also it will be the first time that the event coincides with the 2018 Fujian Tourism and Life Exhibition. The exhibition has 1,000 standard booths, occupying 20,000 square meters in total. It has attracted near 100 domestic travel agents as well as a dozen from the United States, Australia, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to participate.
